Endurance Spirit Treadmill Australia.

Living in Australia means having all 4 seasons in one day sometimes, summer days can be hot and humid and it can all change within a few hours to windy and wet making outdoor training an unpleasant experience, which often leads to an excuse to skip a workout unfortunately. Those of us who understand the importance of keeping consistent with our fitness and daily steps know that having a treadmill at home can be a lifesaver and most importantly means we can’t use weather as an excuse to miss our workout.

Endurance Spirit Treadmill is an overall great treadmill for interval training as well as walking or running as it can go up to 20% incline and can go up to 20km/h in speed. I don’t know about you, but I love to have variety in my workouts, some days I feel like I just want to walk and zone out watching something on TV or listen to a good podcast, and other days I feel like I need to push myself a little with an interval sprint or some challenging incline intervals.

Endurance Spirit Treadmill is my pick because it’s compact, but sturdy.

The size of the actual treadmill once assembled is; L 161cm x W 74cm x H 134cm, making it compact and suitable for limited spaces or even apartment use. Don’t be fooled by its size though, it packs quite a bit of power
with its commercial grade motor and sturdy alloy steel frame. It’s definitely not flimsy.

Assembly and space;

– Simple to assemble, but best to have someone to help because of weight
– Folds up and has wheels
– Very quiet

Convenience;
– Many programs to choose from for seamless interval circuit
– I Phone & I Pad/Tablet can connect to speakers easily
– Plenty of room to place the iPad
– Large LCD display
– Intuitive control panel
– Can pause the session without resetting it and resume when you return to machine

Feel & durability;
– Very sturdy & durable
– Long sturdy side bars/handles
– Cushioned suspension system
– Not jarring on the knees and joins in comparison to other treadmills (smooth feel)

Service;

– Lifetime motor warranty
– Great overall service
– Great after sales customer support

Cons;
– A little heavy 72kg, needs 2 people to move it, might be tricky to get up the stairs if needed upstairs
– Speakers not the best quality, better use your own
– Not suitable for someone over 140kgs
– Not suitable for someone very tall if they want to do interval sprints on it as they might need more length on the platform/belt

What to look for when choosing a treadmill for HIIT or interval training.

You want the treadmill to have a good incline so it can challenge you if you choose to elevate your heartrate though incline rather than speed.
You want it to go up to level 15. Having good range of speed is important as you will need it for interval sprints and lastly durability
because you want to feel safe on the machine while running or sprinting.

Another good feature to have in a treadmill for interval training would be built in interval programs so you don’t have to jump on and off the belt
until you feel super comfortable to do so.

Having wide sides for your feet by the side of the belt is going to come in handy when you do start interval sprints, where you use a stop and start
type HIIT. So, for instance if you run at speed 12, you want to be able to comfortably grab on to the handles and jump your feet off to the sides for
your rest period while the belt is still running at that speed, so you don’t have to use buttons to constantly go up and down for your rest periods
when performing HIIT.

Here is a great HIIT workout on treadmill for you that you can try.

For all levels I suggest to start with a 5-10 min warm up on moderate jog speed or around level 7.

Beginner level (first time trying HIIT on a treadmill). 10 mins
8 rounds – 20 seconds at speed 9, 60 seconds full rest on the sides of the treadmill in between each sprint.

Intermediate (push yourself). just under 15 mins
10 rounds – 30 seconds at speed 10, 60 seconds full rest on the sides of the treadmill in between each sprint.

Advanced (sweat and burn) 20 mins
12 rounds – 30 seconds at speed 13, 80 seconds full rest.
